LivGenerations Ahwatukee is currenlty hiring a Sous Chef. Sous Chef will be resposible in the supervision of culinary staff, preparing meals following standardized recipes and ensuring therapeutic diets are compliant. You’ll maintain high sanitation standards within the dining department and be knowledgeable in safe food handling, preparation, and meal service for our highly susceptible customers. Responsibilities

  • Perform supervisory work of Culinary Staff to achieve the delivery of a high quality dining experience for our residents and guests
  • Follow the standardized recipes as they are written; ensure recipes and diet orders are prepared and followed for our residents on therapeutic diets
  • Complete various food preparation tasks; ensure food items are plated to achieve high standards of presentation that meets with the hospitality industry’s philosophy, “you eat with your ”
  • Properly store leftover food items, labeling each product in accordance with regulations; careful to properly prep and prepare foods to minimize waste and leftovers; follow proper portion control
  • Monitor the supply of each menu item & communicate to culinary team what is needed to keep the line running smoothly and efficiently
  • Call out the food orders when manning the food line, noting residents’ special requests and seeing that the meals go out accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain a strict “clean as you go” policy, maintaining a clean, professional work environment that meets or exceeds company standards for successful state and local inspections
  • Follow all cleaning procedures and schedules; help oversee Utility Aides ensuring ware washing and general cleaning duties are performed to company standards
  • Help to ensure the dining team is in complete, clean and correct uniforms and maintaining a professional appearance at all times
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, notifying the supervisor of any faulty equipment or safety concerns
  • Assist other dining staff members as needed
  • Keep a customer service oriented focus; work with culinary team to ensure we deliver the same high quality dining experience to all levels of care within our campus
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Dining Service Director, Executive Chef, Executive Director, and/or Vice President of Dining

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED certificate or years of experience may substitute on a year-to-year basis
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Chef required
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Lead Chef in restaurants or other aspect of the hospitality industry preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a food handlers card within 30 days of employment
  • Criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
  • Pass post offer TB test and drug screen
  • Have or obtain Heimlich training and maintain current status throughout employment
  • Have computer skills necessary to place food orders, record inventory levels, and customer data base for point of sale system
