Shift:Sunday through Thursday

Hourly rate:$12.50-$13.50

Of course, work wouldn’t be work without some responsibilities. You’ll be responsible for performing housekeeping activities in accordance with current standards and community guidelines. You’ll work with the Executive Director and/or the Director of Maintenance, to assure that our community and residents apartments are maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable matter. Responsibilities

  • Follows safety standards when performing tasks. Follows manufacturer’s instructions and manufacturer’s recommendations when using chemicals or operating equipment
  • Reports any maintenance, safety and/or repair issues identified throughout shift to Director of Plant Operations for immediate correction
  • At the end of each shift, cleans and properly stores equipment and supplies. Cleaning carts need to be cleaned and properly stocked
  • Follows proper infection control and universal precautions when performing tasks
  • Recognizes and honors Resident Rights
  • While performing tasks, should any unusual Resident behavior or habit be noted that may indicate a change in the Resident’s condition, immediately report this to the Director of Wellness or Memory Care, Director of Plant Operations, Director on Duty or Executive Director
  • Follows seasonal and periodic cleaning schedules as set by Director of Plant Operations

Cleans scheduled suites and assist in helping other co-workers in other suites when able, including:

  • Dust, sweep, vacuum, and restore order
  • Wipe down trim and molding
  • Clean glass in windows and doors

Daily refresh of suites to include:

  • Trash removal
  • Pick up of bathroom
  • Restock hand soap and paper towels
  • Make up bed

Weekly cleaning of suites to include:

  • Clean and sanitize bathroom, includes toilet, sink, shower, tile, mirror
  • Vacuum carpet
  • Dust exterior surfaces, window sills, trim, light fixtures, etc.…
  • Dust interior surfaces, furniture, bedframes, etc.…
  • Empty waste baskets and replaces liners
  • Change bed linens and make bed

Clean, sanitize and restock supplies in public restrooms (hand soap, paper towels, toilet tissue). Do not stack back-up supplies or partial rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms

 

Cleans common areas as assigned to include:

  • Mopping and vacuuming of floors
  • Cleaning of public restrooms
  • Refilling supplies
  • Dusting and organizing shelves and tables
  • Checks lamps and replaces any burnt out light bulbs
  • Cleaning furniture
  • Refresh areas to eliminate odors

Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Director of Plant Operations and, Executive Director

 

Assist with resident transfer or evacuation during emergency situations and under the coordination of the Director on Duty or other persons in charge as well as unlocking when clear

Qualifications

  • Excellent hospitality and customer service skills
  • Commitment to excellence and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team work environment
  • Sufficient fluency in spoken and/or written English to safely and effectively perform the functions of your job and to understand job assignments, instructions, policies, rules, and safety-related information
  • Three to six months of housekeeping experience preferred
  • Experience in working in a senior living community preferred
  • Criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
  • Pass post offer TB test
  • Hold or be eligible for a Fingerprint Card, First Aid and CPR if requested
