The Director of Dining Services is a working supervisor position experienced in planning menus, ordering food/supplies, managing teams, interacting with residents and customers and total fiscal management of dining operations. Knowledge of food handling, preparation, services and operation of kitchen equipment is a must. You’re well versed in dining room etiquette and customer relations to produce an upscale hospitality focused experience for residents, families and guests. Responsibilities

  • Hands on supervisor for dining team to achieve an outstanding/professional hospitality experience
  • Training, mentoring and supervising kitchen team in cooking/presentation/sanitation standards
  • Training dining team to uphold service standards for our residents, guests and customers
  • Inventory food/supplies to ensure needed products are in-house for high customer satisfaction
  • Manage food and labor budgets for overall dining services department
  • Leads dining teams to delivering same quality dining experience to all residents/customers regardless of where they reside and/or eat. Upscale hospitality focus at all levels of service
  • Coordinating with Activities Director and Sales/Marketing team to create menus for special events, marketing events/presentations, outreach, and other special occasions
  • Knowledge of local and state health and sanitation and safety codes. Maintains proper information needed during inspections. Maintains high ratings from local & state inspections. Follows all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintains a strict “clean as you go” policy, maintaining a clean, professional work environment
  • Designs cleaning procedures and scheduling to ensure sanitary standards are being met in all locations
  • Able to design menu selections keeping resident and customer’s preferences/needs in mind. Is knowledgeable in liberalized therapeutic diets per community’s diet roster
  • Always be customer service oriented. Work with team members to deliver measures of excellence that sets us apart from our competitors and delivers a unique, upscale experience
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or VP of Dining

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED certificate required (or years of experience may substitute on a year-to-year basis); formal Culinary Degree or Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing a dining service department within the hospitality industry required; three (3) years’ experience managing a dining service department in independent/assisted living industry preferred
  • Providing dining for Memory Care residents a plus
  • Must be able to obtain a food handlers card and ServSafe Certification within 30 days of employment
  • Liquor Basic and Management Certification within 30 days of employment
  • Criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
  • Pass post offer TB test and drug screen
  • Have or obtain Heimlich training and maintain current status throughout employment
  • Background in training and mentoring staff. Experience working with seniors and emergency skills
  • LivGenerations requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the extent permitted by law.
