You’re the eyes and ears of the dining room, and nothing slips by you. You maintain a close eye on staff and residents to ensure service standards are being met and residents are happy.   • Prepares schedules and arranges for “call-offs” coverage while avoiding overtime
  • Reviews and approves timesheets and communicates any concerns to the Dining Director
  • Coordinates job assignments with the Dining Services Director
  • Establishes multiple dining room server stations
  • Assist residents upon entry to Dining Room
  • Monitors meal service to residents, team members, outside events, guests, meal trays ensuring all charges are accurate
  • Assists in the planning of all special parties and functions, supervising the setup, service and breakdown of these events.  May handle any billing needs
  • Checks to see that the entire Dining Room and storage areas are clean, reset for the following meal and organized prior to closing
  • Maintains the POS terminals and data.  Ensuring residents and staff data is up to date.  Produce end of day reports as directed by the Dining Service Director
  • Provide department orientation and supervises training of all dining team members
  • Monitors dining team members service techniques to ensure compliance with established operating standards
  • Provides input for appraisals for dining team members at the appropriate time, under the direction of the Dining Service Director
  • Works independently to resolve resident/family/visitor complaints and concerns.  Attends town hall and menu chat meetings
  • Documents team member related incidents and concerns, counseling or disciplining of staff
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Dining Service Director, Executive Director and/or Vice President of Dining

  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience as a Dining Room Supervisor with supervisory experience within the restaurant, hotel or resort hospitality field; two (2) years’ experience in a retirement or assisted living community is preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a food handlers card within 30 days of employment
  • Criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
  • Pass post offer TB test and drug screen
  • Have or obtain Heimlich training and maintain current status throughout employment
  • Have computer skills necessary to place food orders, record inventory levels, and customer data base for point of sale system
  • Commitment to excellence and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team work environment.
  • Sufficient fluency in spoken and/or written English to safely and effectively perform the functions of your job and to understand job assignments, instructions, policies, rules, and safety-related information.
